PROJECT SUMMARY - BROCHURE
ART 2220 Advanced Design - Kerry Gonzales
ASSIGNMENT OUTLINE AND SUMMARY
For the brochure, we were allowed to increase to a 4/4 color selection rather than the 2 spot colors as on the previous projects. We then had to maintain specific guidelines and required elements while also making sure it maintained the same cohesion as the projects before.
All items and graphics that were created must be our own and original. For mine I used some of the elements from my brochure and the envelop to establish a layout. then with my companies logo graphic I placed that strategically to create a project that would come out looking really sharp and nice.
HAND COMP
This one intimidated me for like a sec, but really it was just the overwhelming fact that I had so many ideas and designs that I was kicking out as possibilities. I had to step back and really decide what I wanted this to be in the end.
And I think because of this later down the road there were a few back and fourths that I had to do. But It was just because, while some things look great on paper when you get to actually implementing them… some are either just not working or they were to ambitious for the look and direction I was wanting to take this.
So there was definitely some changing and decision making even in this stage of the process. Which I find to be very healthy, is it really worth doing if you having done if over and over and over like a dozen or so times? *insert cough and laugh* oh artists…
COMPUTER COMP
Again, for this one and just like the kit cover there really wasn’t an issue with getting the design to the computer. What I struggled the most with was the map art. It just took me some time to get that completely where I wanted it to be. I just find that there are some distinct differences in the style and look, so it takes me some time to get it to where it looks like it goes well together. The photography and images that I used weren’t the same issue it is only when I throw in elements of my own creation by hand.
This is an area that I know I need to develop further, which I am hoping to get better with this once I have taken illustrator and have gotten more comfortable with my digital pen pad. I feel that if I can digitalize my artwork this could save me some time and issues that I had experienced on both of these assignments.

Due to some confusion, The Final Hand comp / hand dummy that were completed prior to my completing the computer comps, and that were shown in the in-class review before quarantine, have been misplaced this will need to be redone or located.
I am in the process of located / re-working.
